Silver status

Some of the benefits of flying with Silver Status include:

International Priority Check-in
 Two Single Entry passes for the Virgin Australia Lounge, valid for 12 months

Platinum status

Some of the benefits of flying with Platinum Status include:

Four complimentary fare upgrades2 per year from a Freedom fare to a Business Class seat on Domestic, Trans Tasman or International Short Haul flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia.
 Virgin Australia Lounge access for yourself and three additional guests, plus up to two children aged between three to 12 years.

Etihad Airways Lounge

Through Virgin Australia and our airline partners, Velocity is pleased to offer pre-departure access to over 150 international airline partner lounges to our Velocity Platinum and Gold members.

Eligibility for lounge access varies according to your fare class, Velocity membership level and destination.

  • 1. Request to Fly Ahead to your destination on an earlier flight. Fly Ahead requests can be made at the airport for you and up to 3 guests on the same booking.
    Available when flying on any domestic Virgin Australia fare except a Getaway fare.

    Requests can be made in the Virgin Australia Lounge or at the Service Desk (where available) when travelling with carry-on luggage only. Requests must be made to a Virgin Australia staff member at the Virgin Australia Priority Check-in counter when travelling with checked baggage. Fly Ahead Terms and Conditions.

    2. UpgradeMe Platinum Member Offer:

    Platinum members are entitled to four complimentary fare upgrades per year from a Freedom fare (fare classes Y, B, H, K, L) to a Business Class seat on Domestic, Trans Tasman or International Short Haul flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia.

    Members can also use their complimentary upgrades for guests travelling with them on the same flight.
    Request an upgrade any time after you have booked your flight, up to two hours prior to scheduled departure time by contacting the Membership Contact Centre.

    Requests can be made at any Virgin Australia Lounge or if departing from Hobart at Priority Check-in. Request any same-day upgrade on Virgin Australia operated Domestic flights up to 40 minutes prior to scheduled flight departure time.

    Upgrades are subject to Business Class Reward Seat availability and to the UpgradeMe Platinum Member Offer
