How do I qualify for Silver, Gold or Platinum membership?

To upgrade your membership level, you need to earn a certain number of Status Credits and have flown a certain number of Eligible Sectors. Status Credits can be earned each time you fly with Virgin Australia and our airline partners.

An Eligible Sector is any direct non-stop flight that begins with a VA flight number and does not include Reward Seats.

·       To achieve Silver status, you need to earn 250 Status Credits and fly at least 2 Eligible Sectors.

·       To achieve Gold status, you need to earn 500 Status Credits and fly at least 4 Eligible Sectors.

·       To achieve Platinum status, you need to earn 1,000 Status Credits and fly at least 8 Eligible Sectors.

Velocity will assess your Status Credit balance daily for a potential upgrade. Your Status Credit balance is calculated based on the amount of Status Credits earned in the previous 365 days. Once you have achieved a membership level, you have 365 days to earn the required number of Status Credits to maintain that level.
