Status gift and year-long extension for our Platinum, Gold and Silver members
The impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has drastically impacted the airline industry along with many other industries both in Australia and overseas.
We wanted to make sure that when flying returns to normal our Platinum, Gold and Silver members are set to continue enjoying all the benefits that come with Status.

What we are doing for our members
Status Extension and Preservation We'll be extending and preserving the current Status of all Velocity Frequent Flyer Platinum, Gold, and Silver members for a further 12 months. If you were a Platinum, Gold or Silver Status member between 4 March 2020 and 29 March 2020, you will receive a 12-month extension to your benefit period, effective from your review date. E.g. If you had a benefit period end date of 25 April 2020 we will be extending this to 25 April 2021.1
Once your complimentary year of Status begins, your new review date will appear on our Website and in the Velocity App.
If you were a Platinum, Gold or Silver Status member, who downgraded between 4 March 2020 and 29 March 2020, you will have your previous Status reinstated for a further 12 months.1
Pilot Gold All Pilot Gold members who downgraded between 4 March 2020 and 29 March 2020, have since been upgraded to a full Gold membership (and can continue to enjoy Gold benefits for a further 12 months).2
All Pilot Gold members on 31 March 2020, have since have been maintained to full Gold membership (and can continue to enjoy Gold benefits for a further 12 months).2
Status Credit Gift We recognise that with less time in the sky over the next little while, you'll need a boost. So, we're gifting each of our Platinum, Gold and Silver members bonus Status Credits over the next 3 months, as shown below.

Status Extension: All Velocity members holding Silver, Gold or Platinum Status between 4 March 2020 and 29 March 2020 (Promotion Period) will be given a 12-month extension to their Benefit Period to maintain that Status level (Status Extension).
Status Preservation: If you are a current Silver, Gold or Platinum member and your Status level was downgraded to Red, Silver or Gold during the Promotion Period, Velocity Frequent Flyer will reinstate your Status level as at the day before commencement of the Promotion Period. All eligible members for the Status Preservation would have a new Benefit Period commence Monday 30 March 2020.
Eligible members for the Status Extension or Status Preservation are still able to maintain or upgrade their Status to the next Status membership level in accordance with the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions. Find out more about how to maintain or upgrade your Status level. This offer is not transferable. Any Status Credits and Eligible Sectors earned in a member’s account are subject to expiry after 12 months from earn.
2. Pilot Gold membership
Pilot Gold members who were downgraded to Silver between 4 March 2020 to 29 March 2020 (Promotion Period) will be upgraded to full Corporate Gold membership for 12 months. All eligible members for the Pilot Gold Status upgrade would have a new Benefit Period commence Tuesday 31 March 2020.
3. Status Gift All Velocity members holding Silver, Gold or Platinum membership will have bonus Velocity Status Credits credited into their Velocity account during the first week of April, May and June 2020, as follows: (a) Platinum members will receive 70 Status Credits each month (total 210 Status Credits over 3 months); (b) Gold members will receive 35 Status Credits each month (total 105 Status Credits over 3 months); and (c) Silver members will receive 20 Status Credits each month (60 Status Credits over 3 months). You will be credited the above Status Credits based on your membership tier as at 29 March 2020.
This offer is not transferable. If you have Family Pooling set up, these Status Credits will be credited to your beneficiary’s account upon receiving the gift. The gifted Velocity Status Credits will expire 365 days from the date credited into your account.
