Our pledge to members

In late 2020, we raised the stakes with even more rewards and benefits for our Gold and Platinum Status members. We also offered access to our Discover Gold Status trial for eligible frequent flyer members of oneworld^© partner airlines, Emirates and Air New Zealand to fast track to Velocity elite membership. We’ve now made it even easier to secure your tier membership extension and added an extra 2 months* to the Discover Gold membership.

Q: When is my Velocity status extended until, and what do I need to do to maintain my Status?

Eligible^~ Velocity Silver members

Silver
My current Status: Eligible~ Silver members will be extended up to 8 months upon their review date. How do I retain my Status? At the end of your Benefit Period we will assess the previous 12 months. During that time you’ll need to earn: - Earn 200 Status Credits - Fly 2 Eligible Sectors Status Credits and Eligible Sectors earned outside your Benefit Period will not count towards your Status review. To view your Benefit Period and see how many Status Credits and Eligible Sectors you need to maintain or upgrade your Status, please log into your my Velocity account online or visit the Velocity app.	Your Lounge Benefits: Eligible Silver members will be provided with one additional lounge pass and this is in addition to any of your existing lounge passes, which have a validity of 12 months. If you have maintained Silver Status in your own right, you will receive the standard Silver lounge benefit passes. What will I see in My Velocity account? If you have been provided an extension of up to 8 months, you will see “Extension - Silver”. If you have maintained in your own right, you will see “Silver”.

Eligible~ Silver members will be extended up to 8 months upon their review date.

How do I retain my Status?

At the end of your Benefit Period we will assess the previous 12 months.

During that time you’ll need to earn:

- Earn 200 Status Credits
- Fly 2 Eligible Sectors

Status Credits and Eligible Sectors earned outside your Benefit Period will not count towards your Status review. To view your Benefit Period and see how many Status Credits and Eligible Sectors you need to maintain or upgrade your Status, please log into your my Velocity account online or visit the Velocity app.

Your Lounge Benefits:

Eligible Silver members will be provided with one additional lounge pass and this is in addition to any of your existing lounge passes, which have a validity of 12 months. If you have maintained Silver Status in your own right, you will receive the standard Silver lounge benefit passes.

What will I see in My Velocity account?

If you have been provided an extension of up to 8 months, you will see “Extension - Silver”. If you have maintained in your own right, you will see “Silver”.

Eligible^~ Gold and Platinum members whom did not book or have flown an eligible flight by 21 March 2021 for travel from 7 December 2020 as part of the Status Rewards Program.

How do I retain my Status?

Sit back and relax as we won’t be looking at your Status Credits or Eligible Sectors balance prior to 1 March 2023.

The Benefit Period for all eligible Gold members is from 1 March 2022 until 28 February 2023 (12 months).

This means you’ll need to earn:

- Earn 400 Status Credit s
- Fly 4 Eligible Sectors

Gold Members:

You have been provided with an additional four Guaranteed Economy Reward Seats.

You will receive another four Guaranteed Economy Reward Seats after 28 February 2022.

What will I see in My Velocity account?

When you log into your Velocity account you will see “Gold”

What will I see in My Velocity account?

When you log into your Velocity account you will see “Platinum”

A: Unfortunately, due to technical limitations we are not able to reissue you with a new membership card during your Status Extension. However, you don’t need it as you can interact with your renewed My Velocity Card from our App where you can easily use it to reference your membership number and gain access to our domestic lounges. If you maintain your Gold/Platinum Status after your Review Date as shown in your My Velocity account and the Velocity Frequent Flyer app, we will automatically reissue you with a new membership card.
A: Please refer to the table above regarding Status Credit earn outside of your Benefit Period. At the end of your Benefit Period Velocity will assess 12 months of your flight activity. Any Status Credits or Eligible Sectors earned prior to this will not count towards the renewal of your Status.

Terms and Conditions:

~Status membership 8 month extension: offer is available to Velocity Frequent Flyer Platinum, Gold and Silver members with a current review date between 30 September 2021 and 30 April 2022 (inclusive). Exclusions apply, including Parental Leave Pause memberships. Any individual discretionary Status Extension by Velocity will be excluded. The 8 month extension will be applied to the member’s account, when a member reaches their review date. This will be visible via the Velocity app and website and will be notified to them via email. During the extension period, only a digital card will be supplied.

Eligible members for the Status Extension are still able to maintain or upgrade their Status to the next Status membership level in accordance with the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions. Find out more about how to maintain or upgrade your Status level. This offer is not transferable. Any Status Credits and Eligible Sectors earned in a member’s account are subject to expiry after 12 months from earn.

*Status membership extension until 28 February 2023: offer is available only to Velocity Frequent Flyer Platinum and Gold members whose Status has been previously extended until 30 September 2022 as part of the 2020 Status Rewards Program. The 2020 Status Rewards Program required eligible Platinum and Gold members to book a Virgin Australia marketed flight by 28 March 2021 for travel from 7 December 2020 (including Reward Seat bookings). Codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines were not eligible for this offer. You must have added your Velocity number to your booking to have received this extension.

Exclusions apply, including Parental Leave Pause memberships. Any individual discretionary Status Extension by Velocity will be excluded. Eligibility will be assessed, and the revised review date of 28 February 2023 will be applied to the member’s account, on 1 March 2022. This will be visible via the Velocity app and website and will be notified to them via email.

Eligible members for the Status Extension are still able to maintain or upgrade their Status to the next Status membership level in accordance with the Velocity membership Terms and Conditions.
