Earn Velocity Points with Singapore Airlines

Velocity is proud to partner with Singapore Airlines, one of the world’s most respected and innovative airline brands. Our partnership allows you to earn Velocity Points when flying to Europe, Asia and all other destinations in the Singapore Airlines network.

How many Points will I earn?

Earn Points per mile flown when you travel in an eligible class on Singapore Airlines1.

The number of Velocity Points you earn with Singapore Airlines is based on the fare class and the number of miles you are travelling, so the higher your fare type, the more Points you earn. ​​​​​​Use our Mileage calculator to determine the number of miles you will fly then refer to the tables below to know your Points earn rate.

To ensure you earn Velocity Points make sure you enter your Velocity membership number when making your booking or call the Singapore Airlines contact centre directly or present your Velocity membership card at check in.

  • Any Singapore Airlines flight where KrisFlyer miles have been used as form of payment irrespective of the fare class flown
  • Codeshare flights (Any flight with an SQ flight number that is operated by an airline other than Singapore Airlines or Virgin Australia)

Claim missing Points

It can take up to 14 days after your flight for your Points to be added to your Account.
If your Points have not been credited after 14 days, or if you forgot to add your Velocity membership number prior to travelling, you can submit a missing Points claim by logging into your Velocity Account and following the steps provided.

Earn Status Credits with Singapore Airlines

Earn Status Credits when you travel in an eligible fare class on Singapore Airlines. The Status Credits you earn will depend on where you fly and fare purchased.

Discover how to transfer your KrisFlyer Miles to Velocity Points

If you are also a member of KrisFlyer, the loyalty program of Singapore Airlines, you can set up a link between your Velocity Account and KrisFlyer Account and convert Points and Miles between both programs. 

To transfer your KrisFlyer miles to Velocity Points:

For every 1.55 KrisFlyer miles you transfer, you will earn 1 Velocity Point. A minimum transfer amount of 5,000 KrisFlyer miles is required. Please note that transfers cannot be reversed once made.

  • Log in to your KrisFlyer account.
  • Select PPS Club/KrisFlyer from the top navigation, and then “Other ways to redeem miles”. Once loaded, find and select “Velocity” from the bottom of the page, and then “Convert your KrisFlyer miles to Velocity Points”. 
  • To Link4  your accounts, on the pop-up, under “To convert, link your favourite partner programmes now”, select “Proceed”.
  • Under Add Partner, select “Select Airline Partner” and “Virgin Australia- Velocity” and add your Velocity membership number. Once complete, select “Add and Link”.
  • Select “Airline Partner” and “Virgin Australia - Velocity”.
  • Enter the number of miles you wish to convert and then select “Proceed” to confirm and complete your transaction.
  • You will now be able to log in to your Velocity account and see your transferred Points.

Redeem your Velocity Points with
Singapore Airlines

From 29 March 2022, Velocity members are able to redeem Points for Economy and Business Reward Seats on the Singapore Airlines network excluding flights to and from China and Hong Kong. Reward seats to and from India on Singapore Airlines can temporarily only be booked via our Membership Contact Centre.

We are working closely with Singapore Airlines to restart Reward Seat redemptions in the remaining cabins and the ability for members to transfer Points between the Velocity and KrisFlyer programs.

Note that the routes operated by Singapore Airlines may be subject to COVID-19 restrictions, and not all flights will have Reward Seats available. Available travel dates will vary for each route.

International flight changes and cancellations

With evolving border changes and restrictions, it is important you have flexibility when booking and flying.

To give you greater peace of mind when booking your next Reward Seat, we’ve extended our Flexible Flying policy for international Reward Seats for travel up to 31 December 2022. We're offering unlimited changes and waiving the change or cancellation fees. Changes must be made prior to your travel date, and fare differences may apply. Where you choose to cancel under the Flexible Flying policy, your Points redeemed for the Reward Seat booking will be recredited to your Velocity account (excluding any booking fees). Cancellations must be made 24 hours before your scheduled departure date

Terms & Conditions:

1. Earn rates are correct as at 28 May 2018 and are subject to change. Flights are governed by the operating carrier's terms and conditions, which can be viewed on the operating carrier's websites. Members travelling on Upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of Upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Points based on originally purchased fare classes. Check the Velocity Terms and Conditions for details about earning Points.
2. Members who travelled on Singapore Airlines marketed R class fares are ineligible for earn for travel prior to 1 September 2018. Members who travelled on Singapore Airlines marketed L class fares will earn 1.0 Velocity Points per mile and Premium Economy Status Credits for travel from 1 July 2019. Prior to this date, Singapore Airlines marketed L class was classified as Economy Lite and members earned 0.1 Velocity Points per mile and Economy Lite Status Credits.
3. Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned for an eligible activity or transaction by a Red member.
4. To link your accounts please ensure:

  • You have a current and active KrisFlyer Account
  • The First Name and Last Name in your Velocity Account match the First Name and Last Name in your KrisFlyer Account
  • Your Date of Birth in your Velocity Account matches the Date of Birth in your KrisFlyer Account

If your details do not match, your request to link Accounts will be unsuccessful.
