Domestic flights flown as part of a Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul journey earn at the same rate as domestic standalone journeys.
Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Island earn at the same rate as domestic flights.
When flying on a Virgin Australia operated flight with a partner airline flight number (e.g. EY2004), or a VA flight number as part of a Partner Airline International journey, you will earn Velocity Points and Status Credits based on your fare class and the number of miles flown.
Economy Lite & Reward Seat bookings: Economy Lite fare and Reward Seats cannot be booked on one itinerary. If you’d like to travel on an Economy Lite fare and a Reward Seat in one trip, you can make two one-way bookings (instead of a return trip on one booking).
Platinum, Gold and Silver members also earn a Points bonus in addition to the Base Points4 earned.

Earn Status Credits with Virgin Australia
Earn Status Credits when you travel on eligible fares with Virgin Australia2. The Status Credits you earn will depend on where you fly and the fare purchased.
In addition to earning Status Credits, you will earn Eligible Sectors. An Eligible Sector is any flight that begins with a VA flight number excluding Reward Seats or Economy Lite fares. Earning Status Credits and flying the minimum Eligible Sectors will help you to maintain or upgrade your Velocity Status.You can also keep track of your Status Credits in My Velocity.
Status Credits are valid for a period of 12 months, from the date flown.

Terms & Conditions:
1. A codeshare flight is a Flight that is operated by one airline with a flight number of another airline. For example, a flight with a VA flight number, but the aircraft is operated by a different airline.
2. Status Credits cannot be earned on all fare classes. Status Credits can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner. Status Credits cannot be earned on Virgin Australia operated flights sold with an Air Mauritius (MK) flight number. Status Credits accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment. An itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, is considered two flight segments. Domestic flights booked within an International journey will accrue Status Credits at the earn level for international flights. Members travelling on upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Status Credits based on original purchased fare class.
3. An eligible domestic flight is a flight operated by Virgin Australia with a VA flight number. Earn rates are correct as at 28 May 2018 and are subject to change. Check the Velocity Terms and Conditions for details about earning Points.
4. Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned for an eligible activity or transaction by a Red member.
5. An eligible Trans-Tasman, International Short Haul flight, is a flight operated by Virgin Australia with a VA flight number. Earn rates are correct as at 28 May 2018 and are subject to change. Check the Velocity Terms and Conditions for details about earning Points.
6. Where your Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul journey contains a flight operated by another airline that does not have a VA flight number, then that flight will be ineligible for Points earn. All other flights in the journey operated by Virgin Australia with a VA flight number will earn Points per dollar spent. Where your Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul journey contains a flight with a VA flight number operated by a Velocity Partner Airline you will earn Points based on your fare class and the number of miles flown for the whole journey, including any flights operated by Virgin Australia.
Flights purchased in New Zealand dollar (NZD) or other currency will earn Velocity Points based on the Australian dollar (AUD) equivalent spent.
7. Virgin Australia International Long Haul: Only the fare classes listed in the Virgin Australia International Long Haul table above are eligibile for earning Points. Various fare classes may not be available all year round and certain fare types will vary depending on the destination. Please check your itinerary is eligible to earn Points before completing your booking. If you are unable to determine your fare class please contact the Guest Contact Centre or your booking agent for assistance.
8. Where a member travels on Virgin Australia flights that begin with a VA flight number (irrespective of whether the journey consists of domestic, international short haul or international long haul Flight Sectors) excluding Economy Lite, each Flight Sector will be considered an Eligible Sector.
9. Where your Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul journey contains a flight operated by another airline that does not have a VA flight number, then that flight will be ineligible for Status Credit earn. All other flights in the journey operated by Virgin Australia with a VA flight number will Status Credits per the above tables. Where your Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul journey contains a flight with a VA flight number operated by a Velocity Partner Airline you will earn Status Credits based on your fare class and the number of miles flown for the whole journey, including any flights operated by Virgin Australia.
10. Includes all Virgin Australia codeshare services operated by partner airlines with a VA flight number.
11. Points + Pay: The quoted Points discount is correct as at 22 January 2020 and redemption levels are subject to change at the discretion of Velocity Frequent Flyer.
