Bonus Status Credits
*Promotion is valid between 12:01am AEST 01 October 2021 to 11:59pm AEDT 31 March 2022 (inclusive) (Promotion Period). To be eligible for the Bonus Status Credits promotion you must complete travel on an Eligible Flight during the Promotion Period, and have linked a valid Velocity membership number to that Eligible Flight prior to commencing travel . An Eligible Flight is any domestic, Trans-Tasman and International Short Haul Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight for travel between 1 October 2021 and 31 March 2022 (inclusive) that normally earns Status Credits. For more information on status credits, see tables above. Eligible Flights that satisfy the criteria are eligible to earn the increased number of Status Credits displayed here. For bookings made on or after 19 August 2021, please refer to the accelerated earn levels for Lite, Choice/Groups, Flex and Business fare classes. For bookings made prior to 19 August 2021, please refer to the accelerated earn levels for Getaway, Elevate, Freedom, Business Saver and Business class fare classes. Tickets purchased on codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines are not eligible for this offer. Domestic flights flown part of an International Long Haul journey will not be eligible for this offer. The promotion is for all Eligible Flights flown during the Promotion Period, regardless of booking date. Bonus Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings or on Virgin Australia Charter flights. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades (other than when you paid the full commercial fare) will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this offer. There is no limit on the amount of times this offer can be redeemed. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible for this offer. You should allow up to 4 weeks after satisfying the above eligibility criteria for the bonus Status Credits to be allocated. To earn and redeem Velocity Points you must be a Velocity member. Velocity membership and Status Credit earn are subject to the Membership Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time.
Status Credits on Reward Seats

Velocity Members who complete travel on a Virgin Australia Reward Seat (by redeeming Velocity Points) on an Eligible Flight during the Promotion Period, and have linked a valid Velocity membership number to that Eligible Flight prior to commencing travel, will be eligible to receive Status Credits on their Reward Seat Booking (Promotion). An Eligible Flight is any domestic Virgin Australia marketed and operated one-way flight for travel in the Promotion Period where Virgin Australia Reward Seats are available. Economy Reward Seats will receive Status Credits at the Economy Lite Status Credit Level and Business Reward Seats will receive Status Credits at the Economy Choice Status Credit Level. For more information and to view Status Credit earn tables, click here. Reward Seats purchased on codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines are not eligible for this Promotion. Domestic flights flown part of an International Long Haul journey will not be eligible for this Promotion. Status Credits will be provided to Members based on the originally purchased Reward Seat fare and any upgrades will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this Promotion. Status Credits will be provided based on the earn rates listed as at 1 October 2021. This Promotion can be redeemed multiple times. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible for this offer. Status Credits will be allocated up to 4 weeks after satisfying the above eligibility criteria for the Promotion. Reward Seat fares are subject to availability, and seats are limited and may not be available at peak times or on all flights. A Reward Seat fare must be booked on the Velocity website. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable in addition to Velocity Points redeemed and are not eligible for Points or Status Credit earn. A Virgin Australia carrier charge is payable per sector, per person. Price may vary until ticketed. All payments made by debit/credit card are subject to a payment surcharge. 1. Base Points refers to the minimum number of Points that can be earned for an eligible activity or transaction by a Red member.
2. Status Credits cannot be earned on all fare classes. Status Credits can only be earned on eligible flights, marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and/or a Velocity airline partner. Status Credits cannot be earned on Virgin Australia operated flights sold with an Air Mauritius (MK) flight number. Status Credits accrual is based on single flight segments that consist of individual flight numbers. An itinerary that involves a change in aircraft but retains the same flight number is considered a single flight segment. An itinerary that consists of a change in flight numbers, even if the same aircraft is used for the entire itinerary, is considered two flight segments. Domestic flights booked within an International journey will accrue Status Credits at the earn level for international flights. Members travelling on upgraded fares purchased with Points or any other subsidised means of upgrades on Virgin Australia or our partner airlines will earn Status Credits based on original purchased fare class.
#If you’ve linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to your Flybuys household account, you can choose to manually transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points at a time to receive 500 Velocity Points per 1,000 Flybuys points transferred to Velocity. Or, you can turn on Auto Transfer and if you choose to do this, your entire existing Flybuys points balance (to the highest multiple of 1,000 Flybuys points) will be automatically transferred to your linked Velocity account, and every 1,000 Flybuys points you subsequently collect will be automatically transferred into 500 Velocity Points. From 1 November 2020, the annual transfer limit has been removed, meaning there’s no limit to the amount of Flybuys points you can transfer to Velocity. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys household at any one time. To turn on Auto Transfer, the full name and date of birth on your Flybuys household account and linked Velocity membership must match. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/. Visit https://experience.flybuys.com.au/rewards/travel/velocity-transfer to manually transfer your Flybuys points. Alternatively, to turn on Auto Transfer, visit partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/ and sign in to your Flybuys account then turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘On’. This selection will apply to all members under that specific Flybuys household account. You can turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘Off’ at any time and will still be able to manually transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity.
Please allow up to 48 hours for Velocity Points to be credited to your linked Velocity account and for your Flybuys points balance to be updated.
