As a Platinum, Gold or Silver Velocity member, you will earn a Velocity Points bonus when you book with selected Velocity travel partners, as well as on flights with Virgin Australia and our partner Etihad Airways.
Earn on your everyday spend with a Velocity Points earning credit card. The Points you earn every time you use your card will automatically be allocated to your Velocity account each month. If you already have a credit card or don't want a new one you can still earn by transferring your existing participating credit or charge card points to Velocity1.
Your Points expire after 24 months of account inactivity. That means no eligible earnings or redemptions for two whole years – not a single Point in or a single Point out.
It’s easy to prevent your Points from expiring - every time you earn, redeem or buy Points, you’re renewing your Points for another two years.
Ineligible transactions: If you’re part of a Family Pool, receiving Points via family pool transfers won’t count as account activity, nor will Points transferred to or from your Family Members, or the earning of Status Credits. These activities won’t stop your Points expiring.
We’ll send you an email a few months before your Points expiry date, so you’ll have plenty of time to get yourself back into the game – just make sure you’ve got your most up-to-date email address on your Velocity profile!
Your Points expiry will not result in closure of your membership Account and once Points have expired they cannot be reinstated.

To be eligible for the First Flight double Points Bonus promotion you must (1) join Velocity as a new member between12.01am AEDT 4 November 2021 and 11.59pm AEST 30 September 2022; (2) after joining, book and ticket an Eligible Flight within 3 months of joining, enter a valid Velocity membership number at the time of booking; and (3) complete travel on an Eligible Flight.
