Points earned per one-way Virgin Australia flight

When travelling with a cat or dog on a Virgin Australia domestic flight, you will earn a minimum of 300 Points per pet carrier for each flight sector flown1 on top of your normal Virgin Australia Point earn rate. The number of Velocity Points you earn when flying your pet is based on your Velocity membership status2.

To earn Points, you must be travelling with your pet on the same flight and your Velocity membership number must be added to your booking.

  • 1. Points will not be earned for unaccompanied pets, the international transportation of pets, or Service dogs that travel in the cabin of the Virgin Australia flight. Points will be awarded for a maximum of two pet carriers per booking. Pets will be carried in accordance with the member Terms and Conditions. Points will not be earned for unaccompanied pets, the international transportation of pets or Service dogs that travel in the cabin of the Virgin Australia flight. Points will be credited to the member travelling with the pet within 14 days after completion of travel.

    2. Points bonuses are earned in addition to the base Points earned. Base Points means the minimum number of Points which would be earned for an eligible activity or transaction by all members, irrespective of Velocity membership level.

  • 3. Velocity Frequent Flyer members will earn 3 Points per $1 spent. Velocity Points are earned on the air component of Jetpets bookings where the pet is travelling on Virgin Australia aircraft only. Members should allow 5 working days from the date of travel for Points to be awarded to their account. To earn Velocity Points, you must be a Velocity member and the pet travel must be booked in your name.

  • 4. Members earn a standard rate of 3 Velocity Points per $1 spent on premiums paid during the first year of the policy, regardless of payment frequency. Existing policy holders are ineligible to earn Points and can only earn Points upon policy renewal.
