Whether you've got your sights set on a weekend away within Australia, travels to far-flung destinations or even a trip to the shops, your Points could take you there.

If you're stockpiling Points, here's how to put them to good use.

No matter how many Points you’ve got, – whether you’re closer to 2,000 Points, in the 20,000-50,000 range, or reaching the 100,000+ mark (well done, you!) – exciting rewards are within reach! 

If you’ve got more Points than you can poke a stick at, or just enough to redeem your first reward, we’ve laid out some of the best ways to use them. Just remember, taxes and fees apply to flight and upgrade redemptions and will need to be paid on top of your Points.  

 

How to use 1,000 to 20,000 Velocity Points

Starting out, or replenishing your Points after a spend? You might feel like you have a long way to go, but there are great rewards to be had no matter what your Points balance is.

From just 4,900 Points you can upgrade your next Virgin Australia flight – and from just 6,200 Points, you can redeem on one-way Economy flight bookings too. That’s right: a flight paid for by Points!

If you’ve hit the 10,000 Points mark, you can also get yourself a Virgin Australia Single Entry Lounge Pass.

How to use 20,000 to 50,000 Velocity Points

Sandy shores await. You’re beginning to master the art of earning Velocity Points, and have yourself a nice bundle of Points to spend – so we think you’ve earned yourself a break for all your hard work!

For 35,600 Points, you can get a return Economy ticket to sunny Fiji from Sydney or Brisbane. If a retreat in Bali is calling your name, you’ll need 44,600 Points for a return Economy ticket, and if Queenstown beckons you’ll want 35,600 Points to get you there and back. 

If a chill in the air has you dreaming of heading up to the balmy north, fly Economy on Points to Cairns and back from Sydney or Melbourne for 28,200 Points.

If it’s Business Class or bust, fly between Brisbane and Melbourne, return, for 47,000 Points and fly in style.  Again, bear in mind that taxes and fees will apply to any flight redemptions you make. 

How to use 50,000 to 100,000 Velocity Points

Now, this is where your rewards get really exciting. If you’ve passed the 50,000 Points mark, you could fly return Economy to Los Angeles from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with United Airlines for 89,600 Points. 

How to use more than 100,000 Velocity Points

If you’ve hit the 100,000 Points mark – you’ve earned yourself some seriously enticing rewards (and know a thing or two about earning on Velocity!). Have you earned 150,000 Points yet? How does a return Economy flight from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with Qatar sound?
