Any Seat

Can’t find a Reward Seat on a specific flight? Then book an Any Seat.

If a flight is available for sale and can be booked on the Virgin Australia website, you can use your Points for payment. Our Any Seat allows you to use you Points to secure a Virgin Australia Business, Economy Flex, Economy Choice or Economy Lite8 fare.

An Any Seat requires more of your Velocity Points than a Reward Seat, and the number of Points required will vary, just as the price of flights varies when paying with dollars. As you’re booking a Virgin Australia fare, an Any Seat is eligible to earn:

  • Velocity Points
  • Status Credits
  • Tier bonus Points (excluding Economy Lite fares)
  • Eligible Sectors (excluding Economy Lite fares)

Status Credits and Eligible Sectors will help maintain or upgrade your Velocity membership level.

When booking eligible Domestic, Trans-Tasman and International Short Haul flights you will earn 5 Velocity Points per $1 spent on the entire fare, not just the portion you are paying for with cash.

Platinum, Gold and Silver members also earn a Points bonus in addition to the Base Points4 earned. Silver members will receive an additional 50% Points; Gold members will receive an additional 75% Points; and Platinum members will receive an additional 100% Points. The Points bonus does not apply to Economy Lite fares.

The number of Status Credits you earn will depend on the distance flown and the fare class you’re flying.

Virgin Australia fare rules apply to ‘Any Seat' flight bookings.
