*Flybuys Velocity ‘Points Millionaire’ Competition Terms and Conditions
General
1. The competition is a game of chance and is authorised under the permits.
2. The material used to market and promote the competition forms part of the competition terms. If there is an inconsistency between the material used to market and promote the competition and the competition terms, the competition terms prevail.
Eligibility to enter
3.During the Competition Period, anyone may enter the competition, provided that they are:
(a) over 18 years of age;
(b) a resident of Australia;
(c) a valid current Flybuys member (or new Flybuys member who joins during the Competition Period) and a valid current Velocity Frequent Flyer member (or new Velocity Frequent Flyer member who joins during the Competition Period). To be a valid Flybuys member the Flybuys member account must include the member’s first and last name, a postal address, an email address and a contact phone number current at time of draw and prize distribution; and
(d) not an employee or immediate family member of the promoter or Velocity Frequent Flyer or an agent of the promoter who is connected with the competition.
Entering
4. By entering the competition, entrants accept the competition terms.
5. How to enter
To receive an automatic entry (or entries) in the prize draw, Flybuys members must ensure their Flybuys Account is linked to their Velocity Account and then do one or both of the following actions between 12:01am (AEDT) on 01/03/2023 and 11:59pm (AEST) on 30/04/2023 (Competition Period):
(a) Manual Transfer
Receive 1 entry into the prize draw for every 1,000 Flybuys points you manually transfer from your Flybuys account to your Velocity account; OR
(b) Auto Transfer
Opt-in to Auto Transfer (includes members who already have Auto Transfer turned on) and receive 4 entries into the prize draw for every 1,000 Flybuys points automatically transferred from your Flybuys account to your Velocity account.
Your accounts must remain linked (and if Auto Transfer is turned on it must remain turned on) until 11.59pm (AEST) on 30/04/2023 to be eligible to participate in the draw.
6. The following additional terms apply when transferring points from your Flybuys account to your Velocity membership:
(a) If you’ve linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to your Flybuys account, you can choose to manually transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points at a time to receive 500 Velocity Points per 1,000 Flybuys points transferred to Velocity. Or, you can turn on Auto Transfer and if you choose to do this, your entire existing Flybuys points balance (to the highest multiple of 1,000 Flybuys points) will be automatically transferred to your linked Velocity account, and every 1,000 Flybuys points you subsequently collect will be automatically transferred into 500 Velocity Points. There is no limit to the amount of Flybuys points you can transfer to Velocity. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys account at any one time. To turn on Auto Transfer, the full name and date of birth on your Flybuys account and linked Velocity membership must match. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at https://experience.flybuys.com.au/partners/velocity-frequent-flyer/.
Visit flybuys.com.au/transfer to manually transfer your Flybuys points. Alternatively, to turn on Auto Transfer, visit https://experience.flybuys.com.au/partners/velocity-frequent-flyer/ and sign in to your Flybuys account then turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘On’. This selection will apply to all members under that specific Flybuys account. You can turn your Auto Transfer preference to ‘Off’ at any time and will still be able to manually transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity. Please allow up to 48 hours for Velocity Points to be credited to your linked Velocity account and for your Flybuys points balance to be updated. Once Flybuys points have been redeemed for Velocity Points they can’t be returned to your Flybuys account.
(b) Standard Flybuys Terms and Conditions apply to the collection of Flybuys points.
(c) Velocity membership Terms and Conditions apply once Flybuys points are transferred to Velocity.
7. You may enter as many times as you like provided the entry criteria detailed in paragraph 5 are met.
8. If, subsequent to a qualifying entry, you do not wish to participate in the competition you must advise the promoter by calling the Flybuys service centre (13 11 16).
9.The promoter may disqualify any entrant who:
(a) enters the competition without being eligible;
(b) tampers with the entry process;
(c) submits an entry that is not in accordance with the competition terms; or
(d) in entering the competition, engages in conduct which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the competition or the promoter.
10. Failure by the promoter to exercise its rights under paragraph 9 does not constitute a waiver of the promoter’s rights under paragraph 9. If the entrant’s contact details change, the entrant must notify the promoter.
Drawing winners
11. The promoter will draw the winners from the pool of valid entrants at the draw time on the draw date at the draw address.
12. The first valid entry drawn will win the First Prize, the next valid entry drawn will win the Second Prize, the next 100 valid entries drawn will each win a Third Prize, the next 100 valid entries drawn will each win a Fourth Prize, the next 100 valid entries drawn will each win a Fifth Prize, and the next 100 valid entries drawn will each win a Sixth Prize, subject to the promoter’s rights under paragraph 9.
13. The winners’ names and postcode will be posted on the Flybuys website on or before 18/05/2023 and promoter will notify the winners by mail (or via email) on or before 25/05/2023.
14. The awarding of prizes is restricted to one prize per entrant except for SA.
Awarding prizes
15. Flybuys points will be automatically allocated to the Flybuys Account associated with the Winner’s Entry on or before 13/06/2023 and Velocity Points will be credited to the Velocity Account associated with the Winner’s Entry on or before 13/06/2023. Use of Velocity Points is subject to the Velocity Members Terms and Conditions, which are located on the Velocity Frequent Flyer website at: https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.com/content/TermsConditions/.
16. The promoter may request that the winner provide proof of identity, proof of age and proof of residency to the promoter’s reasonable satisfaction before awarding the prize. If the winner does not provide proof of identity, proof of age or proof or residency to the promoter’s reasonable satisfaction within 90 days after being selected as a winner, the promoter may redraw the prize in accordance with paragraph 19.
17. In consideration of the promoter awarding the prize to the winner, the winner:
(a) consents to the promoter using his or her name, likeness, image, voice and entry in any marketing and promotion of the competition, the promoter or the promoter’s business;
(b) agrees to use the prize in accordance with the supplier’s specified requirements;
(c) agrees that the prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash;
(d) agrees to comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements. It is the responsibility of the winner to confirm such conditions with the prize supplier or other relevant third parties;
18. If the prize is unavailable, the promoter may substitute the prize with a substitute prize, provided that the substitute prize is of the same or similar value or specification as the prize subject to legislative approval.
Further draw
19. If for any reason, there are prizes that have not been awarded within 90 days after the draw date the promoter may conduct a further draw from the pool of valid entries at 10:00am (AEST) on 15/08/2023 at at Focal Promotions, 2/7 Stayner Street Beaumaris VIC 3193.
20. The first valid entry the promoter draws is the winner, subject to the promoter’s rights under paragraph 9. If two or more prizes are included in the draw the first valid entry drawn will win the most valuable prize, the second valid entry drawn will win the second most valuable prize, and so on, until all available prizes have been allocated.
21. The promoter will notify the winner of any further draw by email within 7 days after the further draw date and post the winner’s name and postcode on the Flybuys website within 7 days after the further draw date.
Force majeure
22. If there is a force majeure event which prevents or materially and adversely affects the promoter’s ability to market, promote and run the competition in accordance with the competition terms, the promoter may cancel, terminate, modify, suspend or postpone the competition subject to State Licensing Authorities approval.
Liability
23. The promoter is not liable for any loss, expense, damage or liability suffered or incurred by entrants and winners in connection with the competition, including:
(a) any late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected entries or prize acceptance, including delays due to technical disruptions or network congestion;
(b) any incorrect or inaccurate information caused by equipment or programming associated with or utilised in the competition;
(c) any technical error, including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission or communications line, telephone, mobile or satellite network failure; and
(d) any theft, destruction, unauthorised access to or alteration of entries; and
(e) any use of the prize or any tax liability incurred by the winner as a result of accepting the prize.
24. Nothing under paragraph 23 is intended to limit entrants’ or winners’ rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
25. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, any social media provider and no social media provider is liable for any loss, expense, damage or liability suffered or incurred by entrants and winners in connection with the competition, including anything detailed in paragraph 23.
Personal information
26. The promoter collects personal information about entrants in order to run the competition, including awarding the prizes and comply with the permits. The promoter uses and manages entrants’ personal information in accordance with its privacy policy at https://experience.flybuys.com.au/policies/privacy-policy/ By entering the competition, each entrant consents to the promoter disclosing the Winners’ First Name, Last Name and email address to Velocity Frequent Flyer Pty Ltd, Focal Promotions Pty Ltd (ABN: 76 007 374 325) and giftcards.com.au (ABN: 11 004 089 936) for draw eligibility requirements and, where the entrant wins a prize that includes Velocity Points or Virgin Australia Lounge passes, for the purpose of facilitating the prize. By entering the competition, each entrant also consents to the promoter using their personal information for future marketing and promotional purposes. (a) vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, global health emergencies, epidemics, pandemics, civil unrest, strike, war or terrorism; and
(b) An infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the Promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion

To be eligible to earn Velocity Status Credits or transfer your Flybuys points to Velocity, a member of the Flybuys household must link to a Velocity membership. From 31 March 2021, if you link your accounts for the first time or update your link by signing in to your linked Velocity account via partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/, you’ll also be able to view your Velocity Points balance and Velocity Status Credits within your Flybuys account. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys household at any one time. You can de-link or manage your linked accounts at any time at partners.flybuys.com.au/velocity-frequent-flyer/.
Once linked, Flybuys points earned by the household can be manually transferred to the linked Velocity account by any member of the Flybuys household. The Velocity account linked to the Flybuys household as at the end of a calendar month will be awarded the Status Credits. No retrospective claims for Status Credits will be accepted at any time, even in instances where due to technology malfunctions eligible spend is unable to be added to the Flybuys household account. Velocity members also need to fly on Virgin Australia marketed flights to earn Eligible Sectors in addition to Status Credits to upgrade or maintain a new level of membership. An Eligible Sector is any flight that begins with a VA flight number and does not include Reward Seats. 4If you’ve linked your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to your Flybuys household account, you can earn the standard Status Credit earn rate of (1) Status Credit per $100 (including GST) spent each calendar month in total across Coles, Coles Online, Liquorland or First Choice Liquor Market when you scan your Flybuys card at the time of purchase, up to a maximum of 10 Status Credits per calendar month. Standard Status Credit earn rate is based on spend from the day your accounts are linked. Please allow up to two weeks after the end of each calendar month for your standard Status Credits to be credited.
Spend excludes the purchase of gift cards, tobacco, tobacco related products, charity donations and delivery/service fees. Status Credits will be credited to the linked Velocity account as at the end of each calendar month. No part Status Credits will be allocated, only whole Status Credits per $100 spend. Status Tier:
5Receive a 50% Points bonus, on top of the base Points earned, when travelling on with Virgin Australia domestic flights on all fare types except Domestic Getaway fares. Receive a 50% Points bonus on miles flown in addition to the base Points earned when travelling on Virgin Australia International Trans Tasman, Short Haul and Long Haul flights.
6Receive a 75% Points bonus, on top of the base Points earned, when travelling on with Virgin Australia domestic flights on all fare types except Domestic Getaway fares. Receive a 50% Points bonus on miles flown in addition to the base Points earned when travelling on Virgin Australia International Trans Tasman, Short Haul and Long Haul flights.
7Receive a 100% Points bonus, on top of the base Points earned, when travelling on with Virgin Australia domestic flights on all fare types except Domestic Getaway fares. Receive a 50% Points bonus on miles flown in addition to the base Points earned when travelling on Virgin Australia International Trans Tasman, Short Haul and Long Haul flights.
8Platinum members are entitled to four complimentary fare upgrades per year from a Freedom fare to a Business Class seat on Domestic, Trans Tasman or International Short Haul flights marketed and operated by Virgin Australia. Bonus Status Credits
*Velocity Frequent Flyer members must link their Velocity membership to their Flybuys household and must remain linked until 31 December 2022 to earn Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits. Only one Velocity membership can be linked to a Flybuys household at any one time.
Members who link their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to their Flybuys account and manually transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points to Velocity in one transaction between 12.00am 1 December 2022 and 11.59pm 31 December 2022 will receive an earn rate of 2 Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits for every $100 (including GST and after savings, discounts and vouchers) spent in total across Coles, Coles Online, Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market when you scan your Flybuys card at the time of purchase. Spend excludes the purchase of gift cards, tobacco, tobacco related products, charity donations and delivery/service fees. During the promotional period, the nominated linked Velocity member may earn up to a maximum of 20 Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits.
Members who link their Velocity Frequent Flyer membership to their Flybuys account, opt into Velocity Auto Transfer and transfer a minimum of 1,000 Flybuys points in one transaction between 12.00am 1 December 2022 and 11.59pm 31 December 2022 will receive an earn rate of 4 Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits for every $100 (including GST) spent in total across Coles, Coles Online, Liquorland, and First Choice Liquor Market when you scan your Flybuys card at the time of purchase. Spend excludes the purchase of gift cards, tobacco, tobacco related products, charity donations and delivery/service fees. During the promotional period, the nominated linked Velocity member may earn up to a maximum of 40 Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits.
Members who have selected family pooling will have their Status Credits pooled from Contributing Accounts to the Beneficiary account. Please allow up to 4 weeks after the end of each calendar month for your Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits to be credited. Velocity Frequent Flyer Status Credits will not appear on your Flybuys statement, see your Velocity account for your Status Credit balance. Velocity members also need to fly on Virgin Australia marketed flights to earn Eligible Sectors in addition to Status Credits to upgrade or maintain a new level of membership.
